Annotation

The paper addresses the pressing issue of improving the plasticity of metals in cold roll stamping processes, which is crucial for ensuring high reliability and quality of finished products in modern manufacturing. One of the key aspects of these processes is determining the forming limit curves, which allow for an accurate assessment of the maximum permissible material deformations before failure.

Cold stamping processes involve complex metal deformations, leading to the accumulation of micro-damage in their structure. Such damage causes material loosening, reducing its residual plasticity and increasing the risk of crack formation. The ability of a material to undergo plastic deformation without failure depends on several factors, including material properties, loading conditions, and the nature of the stress state.

Particular attention in this study is given to the influence of the stress state scheme on the plasticity of materials, as this factor largely determines material behavior during processing. The Nadai-Lode parameter is used for the quantitative assessment of the stress state, enabling the identification of critical conditions under which material failure may occur.

An innovative method for constructing forming limit curves is proposed, based on experimental data and considering the features of the material’s stress-strain state under specific technological process conditions. This approach enhances the accuracy of plasticity assessment, optimizes the parameters of cold roll stamping processes, and ensures the stability of product quality.

The practical application of the developed methodology contributes to increased production efficiency, a reduction in defect rates, and a lower probability of defects in finished products. The research results can be beneficial for engineers and technologists involved in developing modern metal forming processes. Furthermore, the proposed method has the potential for adaptation in other technological processes where considering the plastic properties of materials is essential.
